Adam Chienjo - Executive Director
Adam is an accomplished arts manager, curator, and choreographer with 22+ years of experience in interdisciplinary movement arts.
As a choreographer, his work explores a wide variety of themes, including identity, human conflict, and human rights – particularly Freedom of Expression. He has performed, choreographed, and curated contemporary dance accross Africa, in Europe, and in the USA.
Adam is a pioneer in working with non-normative physicality in Kenya’s contemporary dance sector; in 2007, he co-founded Uwezomix Dance Group – the first mixed-ability dance group in Kenya (integrating dancers with and without disability).
He is the curator and director of the Dance Life Festival, Kenya's biggest international dance showcase.
Loi Awat - Director, Business Development
Loi is a writer and fundraising professional based in Nairobi, Kenya. She began her career in film and television, gaining nearly a decade of experience as a screenwriter and creative writing coach.
Her growing interest in sustainability and systems change led her to transition into the nonprofit sector, where she has spent the last four years supporting large-scale agricultural development programs. She is also a co-founder and Board member of Upstage Limited, and remains passionate about advancing the principles of decent work in East Africa's creative economy.
Jack Bryton - Project Coordinator, Events
Jack is a contemporary dancer, event MC, and Project Coordinator with broad experience in Kenya’s performing arts scene. He has served as Project Coordinator for all six editions of Dance Life Festival, playing a central role in planning, logistics, and artist engagement. As one of Nairobi’s leading event MCs, Jack brings energy, professionalism, and a deep connection to the creative community in every space he works in.
Stacey Achieng' - Project Coordinator, Events
Stacey is a professional dancer and dance teacher practicing tap dance, traditional Kenyan dance, contemporary dance, and musical theatre. She is the founder and director at Tapatapa Tap Dance Kenya, a youth-led tap dance group based in Nairobi that aims to empower disadvantaged children and youth through tap dance. She is also a consulting teacher at Dance Centre Kenya, where she works with ambitious children and youth looking to pursue professional dance careers on the global stage.
Janet Shali - Partnerships Lead
Janet is an accomplished business development professional with a keen ability to identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a diploma in Sales and Marketing Management. Throughout her career, she has navigated complex markets, forged strategic partnerships and secured substantial sponsorships, grants, and tenders for diverse projects, equipping her with a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in driving revenue, growth and expanding market presence.
Mung'atu Wa Ndikwe - Photographer/Videographer
Mung’atu is an experienced photographer and filmmaker with a motivation to constantly develop his skills and grow professionally. He enjoys collaboration, and runs towards socio-politically active content – like The XYZ Show (Kenya’s premier political satire puppet TV show), on which he worked as a videographer. He is also a graphic designer with a diverse portfolio of billboards, logos, and digital branding products.
